Gratitude to Participants

2024 Gratitude list for facilitating and participation of Living LoBS residency — always growing. The more we are the better the water becomes.

Thank you Tidewater Center for the space and opportunity to do this. Thank you for all the local tips and connections that made this possible. More to come regarding the web of living LoBS interconnectivity, the participants in the 14 years of building the Ephemeral Piazza—>into now Microbes to Metropolis: a seven chronicle pedagogy.

Most recently many thanks to Patrick Wadden & Marlena at the Arm of the Sea participants for the space and use of the former puppet bus as my MoS MoBS LoBS Labs.

Patrick is around helping with everything serendipity man. Knots, ropes, bamboo, sand rock bags, setting up the launch and listening,

Paul Mankiewicz, PhD, GaiaInstitute.com for his advice in creating this living marsh raft and bioremediation inspiration over the years!

Amanda Cassidy Engather meet up kick started the project into social realms.

Christa H Mattia Bokashi and hosting the opening, beneficial mud balls.

Alex Mattia & Kai phragmites collection

Engather Community with Amanda Cassidy help three events: Bokashi, mud ball making & throw. Some participants were Soyal Smalls and daughter, Jill Olesker, Johanna Grabiarz and her son, Leslie Ruckman, Sarah and more.

Leslie Ruckman clay from Cottekill and her studio & farm.

Biochar lifestyles from Bill at White Feather Farm.

Adam Pumilio supporting tests by making available the fish tanks for the mud ball testing.

Kathy Puffer for allowing me to trim her willow tree and snag her incredible angora shearing from her goats.

Ashokan Center goats for their goat fleece- super serendipity.  As I was walking out I saw the goats and asked the caretaker, whom I had met before, for fleece.

Doug Cullen and Wandering Wednesday community

Claudia Joseph’s Rondout Valley Permaculture meet up.

R Stang for helping me sew up the burlap tubes and helping at launch.

Anne & Ted Apparu-Hall for their oyster fungi and serendipity: the kids found fresh water muscles and snails. Anne & Ted for helping with mycoremediation and their kids found the fresh water mussels 9/15/24.  They are in the Esopus now.

Joanna Grabiarz for helping the week before launch documenting the preparation of the raft, attaching sculpture, processing SCOBYs. Helping at launch & her son Apollo helped pull the kayak in.

MJ Smythe for help on the big day of launch for her angora fleece work, dyeing and twirling, weaving in blueberries from Zoë, goldenrod and poke berry. She paddled miles sinking in her kids kayak to help set up and decorate the raft. Remembering the knots: “2 half hitches” said Patrick, planting in the raft, speckling it w mudballs.

The launch was a group effort of many people who arrived. Good to note for my next events. One can participate and one might find one can be of service. Video is great because the art here is nothing we can buy for our walls — it’s  participation and collaboration.

Michelle brought dry medicinal flowers, Chris took video,
– therefore art sponsors are always welcome.

See how this The Living LoBS web grows! There a place for everyone created by the one.
