People’s Climate March Application for
A MoS Mud Village Ephemeral Piazza Di People

“To have a town we need everyone.”– one of the early visionaries of Reston.

Is it inherently there.  Almost we would just have to match needs and excess up — people will start plugging themselves into the right place for themselves and someone can be helping with that.. placing people in the EP big machine.

Summary of topics and goals: *

Topic is solutions to a better quality of life. To create new economy in the form of a village center that doesn’t further exacerbate pollution, illness and climate change.
Our goals are to create a vibrant piazza of people in a public space engaged in their desired activities in the form of a gift economy market that uses 0 carbon and has 0 waste as a goal. Most importantly the by products of everything coming out of the piazza economy creates the beneficial succession of air, water, soil and self.  We call this afternoon event  An Ephemeral Piazza, EP. EP’s participants redesign how we do everything. It is not easy. It takes very careful thinking always. However, once a new pathways is set others can follow more easily and the go further down the chain. We can now go deeper into redesigning particular supply chains and waste chains. This is happening already in our culture so as we improve the EP with new ideas we are more successful as a thieving inspired pp.

Each participant activity I ask to make a kit to sell or gift or exchange with other  participants.

What sort of participants do you hope to attract to your event? *

Participants are everyone who comes to “visit” be participants, the villagers of the town visiting the piazza. We need people tp exist since we have no infrastructure we are just people and what pp bring is what there will be,  to have a successful piazza we need all types. NONONE is NOT invited to the ephemeral piazzas. – A village needs everyone and “it takes a village”on a like-minded mission to change everything with climate change.

We match up activities needs and resources. we do this by inviting specifically the activity that uses the waste of another. The outcome of this planning is a web of intraconnectivity and relationships all based in a production chains of biodegradable resource producing waste stream with multiple functions and healthy outcomes. We highlight this progression of interactivity with red string a graphic visual aid as the afternoon progresses. The result is messy fun tangled web of activity. Possible we use natural silly string product;
The goal is simple: each activity create the beneficial succession of air, water, soil and self.

How does event encourage a broad movement supporting system change as solution to environmental crisis? *

These Ephemeral Piazzas create a domino effect of beneficial succession.  They can happen anywhere with any number of participants and grow to involve farmers,  crafts people, services, products and people passing by. They can be supported by the existing shopping mall or strip mall. They can be supported by the city government or a single person, or a kids party. The cost is our organizing time. The individual micro enterprises have to invest in their passion business/hobby and through gifting their investment passion projects they receive more and more of what they need.   It’s a challenge, an experiment and an improvisation. As we individually get better and better we create more supportive relationships.
Everytime we re-perform this we go a little further in using more beneficial succession products made without creating waste or pollution and more local.

How does event encourage a broad movement supporting system change as solution to environmental crisis? *

As we participate in the EP’s we build sustainable micro economies. We gather in public space, we burnish in a little more each time and eventually without expensive planning and red tape we have built a new connected growing micro economic communities. Our goal is to rethink and redesign all our products and services so our waste creates a resource and the beneficial succession of air, water, soil and self.  The repercussions are huge, tiny ripples out to bigger ripples. We start from scratch, go deeper each time -setting the path, building relationships, weaving, tangling more and more people into the web.  Yay us.
