Sculpture update by dd Maucher.

I was just asked to dolly the sculpture over to 6th St on the 9th bc the bike can’t pick it up at Campos in the morning of the 11th (6 blocks away).

I have added a Thursday volunteer time to my Parson’s list. I will check to see if anyone will be avail.  I’m not sure why the bike can’t come to Campos. Very strange. I asked w no clear answer.

I asked Howard if I could finish it at 6th Community Center outside because to dolly it to 6th St will be harder than necessary and damaging after it is done.

Maybe I move it now because it’s light.

Best case: a flat-bed cargo bike as last year. Something flat and wide Or 4 people carry it. It’s designed from the beginning to be put in a flat cargo bike, 4 X 8 platform on a raft. Bamboo cut down from La Plaza Cultural for the fence installation

Since we don’t have the bamboo raft until the 9th I wont fill the skirt on the raft as planned.  We need to do this next to have two weeks to ferment the mud ball material.

We are making a base w phragmites stalks (that will bind metals out of the water column) —  not as strong as the fat bamboo. Let’s see what happens — hard to know. I have smaller bamboo from La Plaza I cut as a potential raft but I’d rather not use bamboo.

Rose!  Rose is a member of  Campos Garden. She is an art department set & prop fabricator for TV & film.  She’s helping me make a raft. The one  bought last yr by the executive director might be a back up if this works. The bamboo was not part of our original plan.  The stalks were… we need 10x the amount we have.
