MoS Collective is a creator of more #empathic living experiences – how’s that!. :)   I read a post this am about a book called “A Whole New Mind”: Sasha Bailyn’s inkedin post “Move Over Lawyers, The Creatives Have Arrived” (click for post). I came across it this morning

I just asked Paul M of Gaia Institute how he would define my role in a group. As far as MoS Collective is concerned “the social, community, permaculture, participatory is what you do & do well”.

“At MoS” (it is a place I go for work) where we are connecting parts into a whole system, aiming for meaningful empathic living experience.

Creds to Shig who brought MoS the word “empathy” into our focus. He has been working on a compilation of ideas he calls “The Empathic World”.

All pretty cool to think about today since some of us are pitching larger gigs which hopefully just amplify the work here and not take away from it.

I think what slowed my production of Reston/Simon film in ’09 a documentary wasn’t the right medium to best share the experience, an art film wouldn’t work alone but an art film with interactive experience tied to it would work and would be more fun for me. That was the part that wasn’t coming together though. I had 2 people showing up for fun events. Maybe because I didn’t know but three people people in NOVA or too few people could identify with the explanation. I rewrote the overview everyday in emails to people– most people copy paste one perfected paragraph. Maybe I was expecting some great clarity but it just kept evolving endlessly- i am still rewriting the meaning of the film everyday but in the context of the experiential community: the mud ball ball at the ephemeral piazza.

The vision for the movie script is still in my head and eager to be told. I am always available to kick start production. There are many influential people interested in seeing it happen — maybe you know the right producer?

How is MoS evolving daily? The MoS Collective creates situations in which pp might experience village scale interconnected lifestyles. The participants are building the energy of a connected community with out the hardscape– just people and energy, matching wastes and needs, filling in skips and slips where needed until people come one by one to fill in those pockets.

I wanted to learn from elders, I wanted to learn how Reston was founded and I did through certain early pioneers – now elders. I continue learn about quality of life through Permaculture, through looking at community planning, through living in small intentional communities, through trying to survive outside of the conventional. I learn through community building and what dismantles it, through grace and heartache, through good willed strangers, through gifting, through ideals, through growing food, through people, strenuous physical explorations.  allowing nature to touch me lovingly, to push me quickly, to often knock me down.  Life.. learning

After The Information Age which created a-lot (the word abundance was used) “The Age of High-Touch” is said to be upon us. D.Pink sees a trend toward better design, meaning, empathy, and connectivity.
