The East Side Manhattan waste water goes to The New Town Creek Treatment Plant.   Then the cleaned products goes to the river and farms.   Ahh, I hope they don’t grow food but they do. The pellets feed cattle, grow corn and wheat.   It is processed with beneficial bacteria in the “digester eggs” at the New Town Treatment Facility.  The group was mostly new Greenpoint locals, entrepreneurs in green businesses. I asked what kind of bacteria or microbes were used in the digester eggs but he didn’t know the names off the top of his head. I still have not looked that up. I will someday! Great tour btw of the New Town Creek Waste Water Treatment Facility. The host is very enthusiastic and animated.  Here is the PDF. I have iphone videos of him..  to come.
