9/20-23 North East Womxn In Permaculture Retreat

Pasting the NEWIP e-mail INVITE

Date: September 2, 2018
Hello Wonderful Community of Womxn!

We are anticipating the change of seasons as we compose this letter. It is the harvest season!  We hope your year has been bountiful.

We are so grateful for all the Northeast Womxn in Permaculture (NEWIP) who have attended our annual gatherings. We have been co-creating gatherings since 2013 and the collaborations, connections, and friendships have been immensely nourishing.

** OMEGA AND BEYOND. Earlier this year, we learned that Omega (our beloved site sponsor of 5 years) would not host us this Fall because many other organizations doing good work in the Northeast region. A new policy at Omega will provide us space on alternate years. We will meet elsewhere this Fall.

We celebrate sharing this time at Omega with other non-profits. We appreciate the wonderful gift of 5 years of gatherings! This year, and in the future, NEWiP will find a new host sites.

Now we want to reflect on the harvests of our prior gatherings!

** THE WSWS 2018. Some NEWiP womxn gathered at Omega this May for the Women Serving Women Summit (WSWS) within a much larger group of women-led, non-profit organizations catalyzing impressive work in the world. The take-aways from this year were insightful and informative to the movement as an organization. We will post about them at our website: https://sites.google.com/site/nepcwomen/

The SEED and SOIL Teams made the decision not to organize the annual Northeast Womxn in Permaculture gathering for several reasons. We did not have enough time to handle all the logistics of organizing in a new location. Also, we saw an opportunity to better define the role of NEWiP and the how we serve this community by having a leadership retreat.

** A LEADERSHIP RETREAT IN SEPTEMBER 2018.

Are you interested in participating in the Leadership Retreat? This gathering is open to all womxn in the community who would like to add their voice and share their energy in the co-creation of expanded NEWiP activity and the exciting form our NEWiP gathering can take in the future.

The retreat will be September 20-23rd at the Orchard School and Community Center in East Alstead, NH (www.theorchardschool.org). The fee is $50, not including food costs (organized separately). This is a tent camping event, with the option of air bnb rentals nearby. If you would like to attend, please inquire with us via email at nepcwomen@gmail.com by September 9, 2018. More info here: https://sites.google.com/site/nepcwomen/schedule/2018-fall-retreat-visioning.

For those who are not able to attend, we will share the harvest from this meeting at our website: https://sites.google.com/site/nepcwomen/; and send through this google group (see google group information below to join or add friends).

With anticipation of growing our togetherness,

The 2018 SEED and SOIL Teams:
Rachel, Jennifer, Caitlin, Elyssa, Scarlett, Diana, Prisca, Maritday, Collette, Kai, Amy, Frances Rose
