MoS Collective participants and friends were paddlers last summer with the Two Row Renewal Campaign (DD, Teddy, Anne Tim, JK, and others). Pete Seeger signed the flag. We are organizing again for a row from Kingston to NYC in August 1. Contact MoS if you have information, energy for the planning. It was a super amazing experience camping and paddling last year with native nations to “honor the treaties and protect the earth”.

Pete Seeger, August 2013, Beacon, Two Row Campaign Festival: Signing the 600 yr renewal to honor the treaties. Waiting for the paddlers to arrive.

Some quotes from Pete Seeger:

“Start right where you are… thinking globally, singing locally.”

“When one of us is honored we are all honored and in that spirit I accept it [award], not for myself but for our whole community.” – PS

“How can you love god if you don’t love your neighbor…”

(1995- sewage treatments plants — need to be connected up)
“[Do good work] And have fun at the same time.”

“As a matter of fact this world is going to be saved not by people with long faces, ‘Oh isn’t it terrible, oh …isn’t it awful.’ It is going to be saved by the ppl who say ‘well it sure is terrible, well, let’s do something about it and they got a big GRIN on their face while they are planning some new ESCAPADE which is going to get people together to perform another little MIRACLE.

This cleaning up the Hudson is just a little miracle but its gonna take millions upon millions of little miracles like that to save this world. But if there is a world here a 100 yrs from now there is gonna be these millions and millions of miracles, and whether it is a desert or swamp or part of the ocean somewhere or a city block, or a piece of farm land, there is going to be some people to say, ‘hey, don’t ya do that, you gotta do right up-here.’ ”

This must be what he meant: “… they got a big GRIN on their face while they are planning some new escapade..” Pete and Teddy embarking on little miracles.
