About MôS

MôS stands for The Masters of Succession, pronounced moss because the second “s” is invisible.

Designing the beneficial succession of air, water, soil & selves. Practicing regenerative lining with lifestyles of bioremediation and symbiosis.

The name Masters of Succession was a spin off of the term “Master of Compost”, a certification program. So why not have the Masters of Air, Water & Soil & People. Why not be Masters of the Universe, like super heroes and scholars. Since MôS people can be creatively ridiculous and seriously serious — this seemed appropriate. Our first event collective activity was Figment Project 2010, a participatory arts week-end on Governors Island, NYC.  We connected and collaborated with Earth Matter to pick up compost and teach about soil production in fun interesting ways.

MôS is a like-minded community of individuals living in connection to build the beneficial succession of air, water and soil and people as a by-product of our daily routine and creative endeavors. The focus is on quality of life and well-being while being conscious of the whole ecosystem, macro – micro.

**We are all volunteers. Seeking volunteer group to revamp to the site.

The Succession of Monarchs

MôS does not mean “succession” of kings and Queens but butterflies and bees.  We use the word  “succession” to mean the beneficial succession of air, water, soil and selves.   Everything is intra-inter-connected, whole systems science.  We focus on a heightened quality of living and a regenerative abundant future.  We are a spiraling beneficial succession. MôS Collective builds relationships that become lifestyles of bioremediation & symbiosis

The Archy

The MoS Archy is our leadership format. We offer particpants the opportunity to make up a name and be listed in the Archy. We are not run as a hierarchy, monarchy, oligarchy or even a holarchy. It is just an archy, a list of people participating all of equal value. This is always changing.  It is how it is now. It is what is it now.

Whole System Thinking

MôS is not an “environmental group”, we are a design group. Redesigning everything so it heals the water, air, soil & selves. We are about people and our relationship to the earth and each other and ourselves. We do not see a separation. Our work is connected to the whole system. We design the lifestyles that generate abundance of healthy food, supportive people, and building economic resilience.

We use the concepts of Permaculture, Biomimicry, and symbiotics. We are like-minded to Transition Towns, regenerative living and New Economics. We listen, observe & learn from the planet. Humans have to start yesterday to care for the earth &!eachother to not only survive, but actually heal.

MoS participants are stewards of the good life–a great big machine of purposeful moving parts very critical in effecting one another. We observe carefully the patterns in nature, the systems in design.

“To follow its [the planets] lead in organizing ourselves.” – James Lovelock

Participate

Bring your skills to the Town Hall Meeting: Together by clever design, we will plug you into the MôS community.  You might be integrated, you will fit like a glove. Be part of our community and assist in the care of our collective future as a result.  MôS people “care for the earth and care for it’s people”, (a phrase practiced often in Permaculture circles).

MôSs Collective is a conglomeration of diversely skilled like-minded people working together. We have been working together for 9 years.

Collaborste with the MôS Collective and grow a villahe, a community with better social and natural systems.
