Skimmed through to the end excerpt by Nate Berg: “Burning Man and the Metropolis”

Participation is the organic result of citizens continually taking ownership of their community and their experiences within the community.   “It changes their philosophy of how they want to be involved in their cities, how they want to be involved in their world, how they want to personally spend their time,” says Harley Dubois, a Black Rock City board member who serves as city manager. “That is where the change happens. And that happens thousands of times every year when people come to Burning Man. That’s huge.”
